Tampa-based LGBTQ owned creative agency BKN Creative has officially reached its third year in business. Finding success in a growing industry through turbulent shifts both before and after the COVID 19 pandemic, was not easy for the owners of BKN. The desire to challenge the status quo and redefine the impacts of business is what drove co-founders Kevin and Brandon Tydlaska-Dziedzic to follow their dream of owning their own Creative and Marketing agency. It is this drive that aided in their ability to weather the rough waters of small business ownership. Kevin and Brandon feel that passion, authenticity, transparency, and collaboration are the foundation for success. As a certified NGLCC (National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) LGBTBE family-owned full-service agency, BKN Creative is thrilled to have celebrated its third anniversary on April 17th.
“BKN Creative grew out of a need for an agency environment that I could not find,” recalled Co-Founder + CEO Kevin Tydlaska-Dziedzic. “I struggled to find an agency that had it all – a great work environment, transparent leadership, excellent client relationships, fair and equal opportunity for all, zero egos, and an agency that truly focused on collaborating with passionate entrepreneurs. I wanted to create an agency where laughter, love, honesty, and equality reigned. I have always felt that success comes when you focus on relationships – business is about the experience after all and what better way to offer a good experience by building a great relationship. Hitting three years feels pretty amazing and we have our friends, family, clients, and team to thank for that.”
Throughout the years of growth for BKN Creative, they have embraced various mediums for storytelling and creativity for their clients. Despite the apparent wins in their company journey, facing the hard-hitting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic served as a real challenge to the small business. When the economy was initially hit, BKN Creative faced the truths of potentially shutting down and disbanding. What was once a dream now seemed distant in the face of this new reality of social unrest and public health concerns.
“When we first started BKN all we had were dreams of what we would like to see for our business,” said Co-Founder + CCO Brandon Tydlaska-Dziedzic. “Now, three years in, it is exciting to see these dreams become a reality. We have been lucky to have an amazing team to support us and have been welcomed in our community as a thought leader in our industry. We are proud to say that we are not like your typical marketing agency because we truly care about your success, collaboration, and building a lasting partnership. I knew one day I wanted to have my own agency but the ‘how’ was always in question. It has been the most stressful, fun, and exciting venture I have ever gone through in my career and to know I have my husband right by my side is the biggest and brightest part of it.”
